A Letter from Sunder Iyer
Namaste!
I'm delighted to share a glimpse into my journey with you. Since the age of 10, I have been devoted to the practice and teachings of Yoga. During my youth, I had the incredible opportunity to spend over 15 transformative years at the ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Under his guidance, I learned the profound philosophy of Yoga and experienced traditional yogic methods and techniques from masters who hailed from esteemed schools in India, Nepal, and Tibet.
Alongside my passion for Yoga, I pursued my studies and earned a PhD in Banking and Finance. Additionally, I delved into ancient Sanskrit texts and explored the yogic approaches of different schools in India. In 1997, I was awarded an M.D. in Alternative Medicine from the Open International University of Sri Lanka. I also have the privilege of being an ordained Ecumenical Minister by the Ecumenical Ministry for Unity of Religions in Ojai, California. This ordination allows me to actively engage in speaking engagements and conduct programs on the philosophy of ONENESS throughout the United States and Canada.
I am grateful to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of my wife, Maya, who has played a vital role in the development of KYG. Maya brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in holistic and healthy food, as well as recipes that nourish the mind, body, and spirit. Despite her full-time job, Maya generously dedicates her time to assist in recording videos and producing live sessions at KYG. Her unwavering commitment has been instrumental in shaping the offerings to our community.
In 2018, Maya and I formed KYG USA Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to share the teachings of Yoga. This non-profit organization is sustained purely on donations, enabling us to fund our online and onsite programs that we offer to the community. We are dedicated to creating a comprehensive experience at KYG that embraces wellness in all aspects of life. Through our workshops, sadhana events, and online initiatives, we aim to share the transformative power of yoga and provide accessible spiritual guidance to individuals from all walks of life.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
With warm regards,
Sunder Iyer
